Maintaining the beauty and history of this community in perpetuity is the essence of the mission of the JCVIS.

The JCVIS welcomes those living far and wide - within the neighboring towns and across the country - who are interested in preserving and sustaining this beautiful and historic New England community, and who wish to participate in the VIS mission and purpose. The JCVIS has members in 19 states across the country.

The VIS serves the Jaffrey Center Community (JCVIS). Its mission is to maintain and beautify the 22.5 acres of public open space it owns and the streets of Jaffrey Center; to maintain two historic buildings; to monitor JCVIS conservation easements; to protect and display the contents of Melville Academy Museum; and to engage in other community activities, all for the benefit, enjoyment and education of the whole community.
