Maintaining the beauty and history of this community in perpetuity is the essence of the mission of the JCVIS.

The JCVIS has been sustained by the strength of its membership for 115 years. Membership in the Jaffrey Center Village Improvement Society (JCVIS) is open to all who wish to support the mission and work of the Society. The Society’s members, living across the United States and the local region, treasure the Society’s 22.5 acres of open space, Melville Academy Museum, the Horsesheds and 35 acres of private land held in conservation easements in Jaffrey Center.

Your dues and donations, in combination with the untold number of hours of volunteer labor and the dedication of the many VIS volunteers, assure the success of the VIS in keeping its beautiful open spaces well maintained, and perpetuating the vitality of this historic community. The VIS mission continues uninterrupted because of your generous contributions. The VIS is supported entirely by voluntary donations. It does not receive federal, state or local government support.
