JCVIS Annual Centennial Park Picnic
Each year since 2008, an Annual August Picnic has been held, usually in Centennial Park at the corner of Main Street and Bryant Road. Twice, due to inclement weather, it has been moved to the Horsesheds and under tents there.
It has been an occasion for VIS members and friends and neighbors to gather after the VIS Annual Meeting for a pot luck supper that always delights. There is often a grill for cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. The VIS supplies drinks, chips and the like. People bring their picnic blankets and chairs and take the opportunity on this late summer afternoon to chat with each other leisurely before the winter hibernation sets in.
VIS Annual Meeting
VIS Annual Meeting at Melville Academy Museum at 4:00pm & Annual Picnic at Centennial Park at 5:30pm.
In case of rain, the picnic will move to the Horsesheds.
The First Church in Jaffrey Annual Fair
This great community event takes place inside the red brick First Church, in the Meetinghouse and in the Horsesheds. Antique and bargain seekers, people hoping to find just the right piece of art to suit them, people with a sweet tooth, and children of all ages flock to the Jaffrey Common and its historic buildings to enjoy an afternoon of fun and surprises, all in support of several community charities as well as scholarships for several Conant High School Seniors and the church.
